This week we returned to Papatuanuku marae with our Aorangi whānau. Akomanga tuatoru know the school haka and the waiata tautoko very well so helped to support Rooms 21, 8 and 14 during the pōwhiri and whakakapinga. Ngā mihi mahana ki a koutou katoa e te whānau Aorangi. And especially to these students who played important roles in the marae haerenga. Kaikaranga- Madison Morunga Rm 21, Kaiwhakakapi -Willie Filimoehala Rm 13 and Kaikōrero – Jaden Bell Rm 3. Thank you to all students and teachers a great day had by all.
We learnt about whanaungatanga (getting to know other people)
And we learnt about Parakore. Para is the Māori word for rubbish Kore is the Māori word for nothing or zero. Parakore = ZERO WASTE. If we don’t recycle everything goes back into Papatuānuku – Mother Earth.
