Absences

All children enrolled at a school must, by law, attend the school whenever it is open, unless they are unable to attend due to illness, or special home circumstances. (Education Act 1989.)

It is very important to send your child to school regularly. Frequent absence severely reduces children’s progress at school.

Parents need to provide a medical certificate from the doctor if their child is sick for 3 days in a row or more.

If your child is absent please contact us using ONE of the following methods below

  • Complete the online Report an Absence form, by clicking on the button below (mobile friendly).  You can also access this form from the quick links on the home page of this website.

  • Call the office on 09 2764560

  • Email the office on office@suttonpark.school.nz.  You need to provide the parent/caregiver’s name, child’s first and last name, room number and why they are absent and when they will return to school.
