It’s Tuesday 23rd of May, a bright day and the year 7/8 girls are headed off to Barry Curtis Park in Botany to compete in the Inter-school Year 7/8 Girls Soccer competition.

Ever since the girls left school, they couldn’t wait to play, but as they stood in front of the bus, you could tell some were nervous by watching their rivals play.
Even though they were nervous, the girls played well against the other schools and they were a tough team to compete.

The girls played their hearts out, soccer balls flying here and there, screaming and shouting, blocking and stepping in front of their opponents, goals getting scored, it was just too much and happening too fast for my camera to capture it.
In the Year 8’s second

last game a few goals were scored by Mafu and Charlotte. Mafu scored two goals and Charlotte scored one, you could see our supporters cheering triumphantly and Tony and Mrs.lako with the biggest smiles.

Sadly the year 7/8 ‘s came 2nd to last. Although the girls didn’t leave as victoriously as the other teams, they did try their best and put a lot of effort, sweat and tears into each game.

We are all proud of our girls!!
