Hi everyone!

My name is Miss Kolo'ofa'i.  Everyone knows me as Miss K.  I have been teaching at Sutton Park School for the past 11 years.  During this time I have taught in the Year 5/6 syndicate, I spent 2 years as the PE / Sports Co-ordinator and now I am the Music and Dance specialist.  I really enjoy teaching music and dance.  I love seeing students' faces light up when they sing a song, play an instrument for the first time or dance to a funky beat.

I have had alot of help from Avon Hansen-Beadle over the years who has been my mentor in the area of music.  She was instrumental in getting our first lot of free ukuleles into our school.  We have had our ukulele group running for the last 2 years.  Students really enjoy the challenge of learning new chords and songs.  We attended our first ukulele festival in November last year.

We also have a small set of marimba that our Year 7/8 students have been playing for the last year.  We attended our first marimba festival in October last year.

We have some keen dancers in our school.  I have set up a Year 7/8 dance crew where students can get together and come up with their own dances.  I assist them with choosing appropriate music.

I am passionate about teaching and seeing students grow into all they have been created to be.  Every day is different and exciting.  Students teach me as much as I teach them.

Hope to see you soon!
